1. Gabriel Marzook nana had this great friend called Gabriel, an innocent fun-loving type.  One day he arranged for G to come to Savoy cinema to watch a movie.   M went early and bought 2-ODC numbered tickets according to the seats and with one ticket he entered the foyer. Then he left the foyer and at its entrance collected the Exit Card from the usher and waited at the entrance for G to arrive.  To re-enter the foyer by those who have already got their tickets plucked and counterfoil issued to them is with the Exit Card.   All tickets were sold out and the House Full board was displayed. G had not yet arrived.  At the first bell, G arrives and meets M who tells him he had bought only one ticket to G’s disappoitment. M tells G not to worry and gives G his Exit Card and tells him to enter the foyer. G is in trepidation asking M on how M will enter without  a ticket! M tells him not to worry and that he will creep in with the counterfoi...

The Homes

1. Guests Sameer Appa was entertaining two gentlemen visitors, seated on the lawn of the front yard of 298. He calls Marzook and tells him, "Go and get two cups of tea for the visitors". Marzook runs in and tells Wapamma, who calls out to Sithy Aunty saying, "make two cups of tea and send it for the visitors". Sithy Aunty responds, "There is no sugar in the house". Marzook runs out to the front lawn and tells Sameer Appa, in front of his guests, "Appa, Appa, there is no sugar it seems." Appa goes mad and chases him away back into the house. The guests try to be humble by saying, "No, no its OK, that's not a problem". Finally, the sugar is bought from the grocery store in front of the house and the guests are served the tea. After the guests leave, poor Marzook gets a telling of his life from his grandfather which he has not forgotten, even fifty plus years after. [Marz] 2. Ameen Jabir It's Eid Day. Pension

1. Bombay Sweets:  Sameer Appa and Adu Kareem Maama went to the CMC to collect Appa's pension. They took a taxi to the Pettah and bought lots of sweetmeats from the Bombay Sweet Meat Mart. On arrival, back at 298, they both hurriedly disembark the taxi and enter the house only to find that the sweetmeat bag has been left behind in the taxi. Appa: "I thought you had the sweet bag Machaan?" Adu Kareem Maama: "I thought you had it?" That was the end of the sweetmeats. The lucky taxi driver must have enjoyed his evening with his family? Re that incident where  the Bombay sweetmeats were not picked up by one of them, they really arrived flying down in a Morris Minor taxi down Lily Ave, where I believe Wapamma was temporarily staying, both seated like top corporate directors in the rear seat with the sweets placed between them.  On arrival, they have paid the fare and thereafter both have opened their respective doors and breezed out from their sides witho...
